As a part of the NPMA’s National Pest Management Month, April 22-26 has been designated National Bed Bug Awareness Week. It is the perfect time of the year, before the busy spring and summer season, to learn some great tips to control bed bugs and prevent an infestation in your Kansas home or business. Bed bugs have been around for many years and as they continue to spread through homes and businesses, interfering with our everyday life, it is important to educate yourself on ways to avoid bed bug encounters.
Flies, rodents and other critters were not meant to dwell in your home or share space with your family. And while they may have found all they need for their survival inside your house - food, water and shelter - this does not mean that they are welcome. The best way to prevent and avoid pest infestations is to make sure that they are not allowed inside in the first place. We know that homeowners do not intentionally invite pests into the home but there are many ways that homeowners are unknowingly allowing pests to enter. The biggest threat...a home that is not properly sealed.
We spend a lot of time talking about how to get rid of cockroaches and prevent cockroach infestations, but this time we wanted to change gears. Did you know that there are actually some interesting facts about roaches? Like how long they’ve been around, or what they eat. There is a lot to learn about roaches, so the Kansas pest control professionals at Schendel Pest Services would like to share these 5 interesting facts about cockroaches.
The bottom line is mice and rats are a problem. And during the fall and winter seasons they become an even more serious threat to homeowners in Topeka, Kansas City and throughout Kansas. That’s because our homes provide the three necessary elements they need in order to survive, namely food, water and warm, secure shelter. You may think your home is a fortress and no rodent can get in but our KS pest control pros are here to tell you otherwise.
