Tick Insurance

In the English language, the words ensure, assure, and insure, are often used interchangeably. And, while they definitely have differences, they all mean pretty much the same thing. These are words that are meant to let the hearer know that something in the future is sure to happen. But, if you use the words ensure and assure, that future event doesn’t have to be a good thing. A mob boss might tell someone, “Look. If you cross me, I assure you that Vinny Bag of Donuts here will throw you into the river. Capeesh?” While the word assure is usually used to comfort, it can be used to state something with certainty. The same is true of the word insure. But no one ever gets insurance to make certain that something bad will happen.

We can assure you that ticks are bad.

In our coverage area, we have three species of tick: black-legged ticks, American dog ticks, and lone star ticks; all of which have the potential to carry harmful diseases that affect humans and their pets. The smallest and most dangerous of the three is the black-legged tick (deer tick). This is the tick responsible for spreading Lyme disease. If not caught early, Lyme disease can lead to lifelong illness and medical complications such as heart disease, chronic fatigue, cognitive impairment, joint pain, poor sleep, mood problems, muscle pain, and other neurological issues. This is a disease that is often misdiagnosed for other diseases like fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, depression and Alzheimer’s.

Ticks are also responsible for other frustrating and debilitating diseases. The CDC directly connects ticks to anaplasmosis, babesiosis, borrelia mayonii, borrelia miyamotoi, Colorado tick fever, ehrlichiosis, Lyme disease, powassan disease, rickettsia parkeri rickettsiosis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, southern tick-associated rash illness, tick-borne relapsing fever, tularemia, and 364D rickettsiosis. While we can’t go into the details of the symptoms for each of these, we can “assure” you, they are not good.

We can ensure tick protection.

At Schendel Pest Services, we provide tick treatments that work to eliminate these pests in your yard, so that you and your pets don’t pick them up when you are outside, and we back this service with a guarantee that we call our PestZero Guarantee. We assure you that our team will target these pests and eliminate them. And if they return, we’ll also return, for free.

While it isn’t possible to insure your pets or your family against the dangers of tick-borne diseases, we can assure you that here at Schendel, we provide the best tick protection available in the industry. With nearly seven decades of experience, entomologist-administered pest control programs, and certification from the highest levels, we will take all the steps necessary to ensure the safety of you, your family and your pets.
